Katherine was first elected to Hounslow Council in 2014. She has held various policy portfolios including Housing, Communities, Public Health, Environment, and Transport. In 2019 she initiated Hounslow's declaration of a climate emergency, leading to the development of the borough's Climate Emergency Action Plan and Pathway to Net Zero policies, delivering carbon reduction alongside cleaner air, energy-efficient homes, and sustainable transport. Recent developments include the commencement of procurement for a boroughwide Strategic Energy Partnership and low carbon Heat Network. Katherine served as Deputy Leader of the Council from 2022 to 2024. She is a member of the LGA Neighbourhoods Committee and sits on the executive of London Councils' Transport and Environment Committee. Outside of her role in local government, Katherine has pursued a career in research funding and trains women to become leaders in politics and public life.
