Jon Sandford is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Town Planner; and registered Urban Design Practitioner with the UDG; Jon joined Homes England (then HCA) in 2010 and is currently a Senior Manager in the Master Development and Design Team; responsible for advocating and advising on design quality across the Agency and with our development and delivery stakeholders.

His role is to facilitate design quality and advise on transport, infrastructure and masterplanning in relation to Homes England’s sites progressing though the planning system; and to liaise with Homes England’s stakeholders in the development and housing sector accordingly.

An emerging theme of his work is in exploring the application of the new “Vision Led” approach to transport planning for development - as recently advocated in the DfT’s Decarbonisation of Transport publication.

His career has involved senior level roles in multi-disciplinary consultancies working on a range of developments and locations in the UK and overseas – with an emphasis in transportation planning and the master-planning of large sites. Complimentary experience and qualifications relate to project, commercial and business management in different organisational settings.
