A one-day exclusive meet up geared around solutions to complex problems

Our inaugural Meet Up is the culmination of this year's series of Net Zero events and will be held on Tuesday 17 October in Factory Works, Birmingham.

Focusing on the practical aspects of implementing sustainable policies, this event offers two distinct opportunities for its attendees; to network with colleagues and share their experiences first-hand of both challenges and successes, and secondly to hear about specific case studies where innovative solutions have been delivered by leading councils, supported by third parties. This event will serve as the beginning of wider conversations about collaboration between councils, central government and third party solution providers.

The event is free to attend for climate specialists and their colleagues in public sector organisations, and registration is on an approval-basis only.

This event is for those in the following job roles:

- Cabinet Member for Environment & Climate Change
- Carbon Manager/Officer
- Chief Executive - Climate Action/Change/Policy

Format

Meet Up will focus primarily on practical solutions and case studies: it is a one-stop shop for councils around the country to come together for one day and share best practice and innovation. Primarily the content is based around case study roundtables, each held jointly by a council and/or solution provider, telling of their successful (or not) partnership, and offering an opportunity for delegates to probe about the challenges and opportunities in the process. An opening and closing keynote are sandwiched by panel sessions, roundtable idea exchanges, and plenty of time set aside for networking on the exhibition floor.
