A one-day exclusive meet up geared around solutions to complex problems
Our inaugural Meet Up is the culmination of this year's series of Net Zero events and will be held on Tuesday 17 October in York.
Focusing on the practical aspects of implementing sustainable policies, this event offers two distinct opportunities for its attendees; to network with colleagues and share their experiences first-hand of both challenges and successes, and secondly to hear about specific case studies where innovative solutions have been provided by third parties. This event will serve as the beginning of wider conversations about collaboration between these solution providers and councils.
The event is free to attend for climate specialists and their colleagues in public sector organisations, registration is on an approval-basis only. You can register your interest by clicking the button below.
If you are a solution provider and wish to attend please contact Sean Aspill on 020 3953 2022 or at Sean.Aspill@emap.com.
Format
Meet Up will focus primarily on practical solutions and case studies: it is a one-stop shop for councils around the country to come together for one day and share best practice and innovation. Primarily the content is based around case study roundtables, each held jointly by a council and a solution provider, telling of their successful (or not) partnership, and offering an opportunity for delegates to probe about the challenges in the process. An opening and closing keynote are sandwiched by panel sessions, roundtable discussions, and plenty of time set aside for networking on the exhibition floor.
Venue
Meet Up will be held at the Hilton York, which is located a short five minute walk from the Castle Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre, within the city walls. Just 15 minutes walk from the station, the venue will host an open exhibition-style floorplan and plenty of networking areas.
The event is one-day, but LGC will offer discounted accommodation rates for those who wish to stay overnight.
